First Real Hair Cut

That's right...Tilly got her hair did today! My good friend Anna who also cuts my hair, gave Tilly her first real hair cut.

Here's how it went down:

1. We walked in the door...well, I walked in the door, and she stood frozen in the doorway. That did not give me a good feeling about how the whole ordeal would happen.

2. Anna came to Tilly and asked her if she would let her hold he. Tilly quickly said NO!

3. TURNING POINT: Anna ran to her car (which she thinks looks like a minivan--even though it doesn't) and got a bag of suckers. Suddenly, she was Tilly's BFF.

4. We sat Tilly in the seat (sucker in mouth of course) and Anna cut away at those beautiful curls. Tilly sat surprisingly still, NEVER cried or anything, and did great! (She did move her head a bit, but you can't blame her...she was wondering what Anna was doing behind her!)

5. When it was time to go home, I threw away what was left of the sucker. Tilly walked to the bag of suckers and said "more sucker." We told her that those suckers were for the babies (since she loves babies so much) and she said "bye-bye suckers." (Works every time!!! :) ) When I asked Tilly if she was ready to go home, she said "no." When I asked her if she wanted to stay with Anna she said "K." But we had to leave, so she gave Anna a hug bye. When we were walking out the door she was once so terrified to walk through, she looked back to Anna and said "lu yuuuu." (translation of the sweetest, most precious thing you have ever heard in your life: "Love you!")

After bath time tonight, I combed Tilly's hair and can tell a huge difference. It's already laying better. I should have done this a long time ago. I mean, I've done a MINOR trim here and there, but it's kind of a Sampson & Delilah thing. I didn't mind Anna cutting it at all though! I think I'm just terrified that I will completely ruin her hair.

And by the way...if anyone ever needs a good "stylist" I'll be happy to get you in touch with Anna!

Frilly Tilly and her friend Izzie (This would be better had they named her Lilly...)

Our good friends Chris and Holly sadly lost Chris's grandmother last week. (To make matters worse, Holly's car was broken in to while they were at the hospital..ugh!!!) Anyway, Tilly and I went to the visitation on Friday night (not a usual practice, but I knew other kids would be there and we would only stay briefly), so I got Tilly dressed up because we were going to dinner afterward.

I put her in one of my favorite of her outfits, put her hair in a ponytail for the first time, and she even got to wear her fancy bracelet from Neimann Marcus (you KNOW that was a gift!). OH MY GOODNESS!!! Tilly was so prissy with that bracelet. She was walking around with that hand poked out like she was modeling it on QVC! And when anyone would look at it (how could they not since she would cram it in their face) she would say "puuuurrrrteeee." Crack me up!!! I love it!

Check out Frilly Tilly....

I kept Holly and Chris's little girl Isabel during the funeral. She is about 2 weeks older than Tilly, and she is BASHFUL! Such a sweetheart!
Because the funeral was early, they brought her over and I fed her breakfast...or at least tried.

Tilly even tried to help...

She kept saying "eat, Belle....eat Belle..." But we had no luck.
I think Tilly got bored with it or thought it was a lost cause...don't you?

But this beautiful little girl had just not warmed up to us enough to take FOOD from us. (Trust me, if it had been the other way around with Tilly at their house...Tilly would still be screaming her head off at this point, I'm sure!)
Once I decided that Izzie didn't want to eat, it was time to get BOTH girls bathed, dressed, and out the door in a matter of 45 minutes. This seems like a long time, but trust....it was a MAD DASH! (I've never gotten 2 ready at once...oh my!) However, WE DID IT!!! Here's proof...

So, not the best photo, but I had to take it!!! Needless to say, a second child is not in my plan in the near future! :)

Tilly's New Do

On Saturday night we hung out with Eric's sister Shelli, and her husband Josh and baby Micah. Before we left to go, I decided to fix Tilly's hair a little differently. Not only did she have the biggest bow she's ever worn...

She had pigtails!!!!! (Don't mind our nasty garage.)
I thought they turned out pretty cute, but it was quite the challenge trying to get them in because she doesn't like to keep her head still. Then, once we got anywhere, we'd have pigtail-do-overs because the carseat would totally mess them up. Regardless, she was rocking the pigtails! :)
After dinner, we went to Josh and Shelli's and hung out while Tilly and Micah played. Tilly really calls her something like "Guy-cah" but we get the picture. Her obsession with babies continues, so she had a ball with Guycah.

Seeing Micah in her exersaucer made me miss the days when Tilly would sit still for an hour at a time.

Here's a picture for the inlaws...

Isn't that precious?

Where da Water???

For play group today, we went to the "water park" behind the Peabody this afternoon. They have the coolest water area where the water will just shoot from the ground at random. It was so much fun and Tilly LOVED playing in the water. It would scare all the kids each time it would spray. Made for some funny faces!

I am obviously no photographer, but I would imagine someone who knew what they were doing could have a field day with their camera at this place!!

Here's Noah keeping his mommy busy!! He is quite the little flirt!! :)

Every time the water would stop spraying, Tilly would raise her hands and say, "Where da water???" (Without really pronouncing the R sounds though..)

And, of course, the best part is that this absolutely wore her out so she is sleeping quite soundly right now! :) Can't wait to go back!!!

Fourth of July Weekend

It is a new traditon for our family to go to the lake for the Fouth of July. This was our second year to go with the Hill family, and it was so much fun! Tilly, of course, had a great time. Here are some of the pictures. My sister Amanda took them all because I was too busy playing in the water. I'm really a big ole kid when it comes to being at the pool or the lake. I would SO play "Marco-Polo" if I could find someone else to play with me...

Tilly was absolutely amazed by the fact that she could stick her hand anywhere in the water and come back up with a rock (which she refers to as a "wok.") That kept her more entertained than the water, really.

I think in this picture she is reaching back to the shore...for more rocks...
Now, is this a pose or what??? And, don't worry, she was just floating on the tube (she did not ride it behind the boat, Nana) and Eric is very close to her. (I cropped him out of the picture because he would have a fit!!!!)

Tilly and I went to Russellville to my sister's new house a couple of days before the weekend. (Let's just say Ashley needed a few domestic pointers...) Anyway, Tilly wanted to use their potty.

It is clearly more fun than ours at home!
Overall--fun weekend! It was drama free (minus the snake that was right beside us on the tube!!!! AWFUL!!)
