Birthday Lunch

Tuesday is my 25th birthday, so my parents took us to lunch today. We ate at Copeland's--it was so good! I'll probably just have cereal for supper because I'm still full..but I just can't bring myself to skip a meal! :)

We were minus a sister and her new fiance (follow up pictures on the engagement soon to come...) because they have H1N1. Thanks for staying in Russellville, Amanda & Matt! We missed you but don't want that flu!!

Tilly had to make sure her baby ate, too!!

Later today, Eric cut the grass. It was getting pretty bad because of all the rain. Usually, this would not be blogworthy. HOWEVER...Eric umpired softball all day Saturday and forgot sunscreen, so he got quite red. So, when he was getting dressed today to mow, he wore long sleeves, pants, a hat with a towel around his neck and coming out of his hat. Thank the Lord he only mowed the back yard today! I mean how embarassing would that be for a bunch of people to see him??? Let's find out!

Tilly's in a Book!!!

Tilly got one of THE neatest presents while we were in Louisiana last weekend. My aunt and uncle found a book for the most perfect book for Tilly.

Check it out:
Here is the back of the book. (Probably a true statement if I do say so myself! ;))
Here's a glimpse of the inside.

Here's a close-up of "Tilly" in the book. That hair and those cheeks look pretty familiar!!!

Needless to say, I was just tickled when I saw this book! It is SO cute and Tilly (the real one) loves it!!

Catch Up Time

I think that we've been somewhat boring lately. It's kind of like we are back in the swing of things after the summer. Eric always calls it "being in a rut." He likes these ruts. But I like being busy and exciting. Not so exciting lately.

However, we did go to another family reunion last weekend in Sarepta, Louisiana. (It's the epitome of a small town!) This reunion was for my MawMaw's side of the family.
We met one of Tilly's cousins named Reeve. He is so cute! He is about a year older than Tilly.

Tilly was pretty sick the whole weekend and was NOT in the mood for pictures. However, she did learn to say "touchdown" after watching the hogs play!
Today, I got to keep our niece Micah for the first time. Tilly was pretty much thrilled to have her here. I went and picked Micah up to bring her to our house, so they both rode in the backseat. Tilly was talking to Micah and just mothering her like you wouldn't believe. She was even trying to teach her how to count. I SWEAR!! She was cracking me up. For some reason, it made me want to cry. Weird.
When I got the girls inside, Tilly darted for Micah. She said "want your paci Gicah?" Then went in to plug her up! :) Poor Micah doesn't have a chance!!!

She is definitely a deer in the headlights here!!

Both of the girl went down for a nap great! Here's Micah sacked out!

She doesn't nap as long as Tilly since she takes more naps a day. SO--we got to have some quality time together. I got to feed her baby food and give her a bath. It was so fun! It seems like FOREVER ago that Tilly was this age.
The best part of the day, you ask?? Its 7 pm and I'm still in what I slept in. No need to change clothes now!! :)

A Family Reunion

We have had one of the best types of weekends--the kind where we have been HOME 95% of the time and watched football most of it! The only time we left was to go to church and a family reunion on Eric's mom's side of the family. Tilly was happy to be at the reunion because Micah (known to Tilly as "Guy-cah") was there too. Of course I took a baby doll with us, but Tilly didn't need it when she had the real thing!
I'm telling you--this kids LOVES babies!!!
Thanks to Keeli, I have some pictures of the event. I really don't have any of the family group shot. To be honest, I was too busy chasing Tilly and making sure her "D" (Eric's dad) didn't feed her coffee AGAIN!!! :) We were there less than five seconds and he had a huge piece of cake for her. He's really doing what he can to get Tilly to like him. I'd say it's working...

PS: That is the incriminating coffee cup in the front of the picture! I'm on to you Darrell!! :)

18-Month Check-up

No, your math isn't wrong--Tilly is nearly 21 months old. However, mother of the year here was a little late in taking her daughter to the doctor. Oops! Regardless, she had a good check up!

Weight: 33 lbs (99th percentile)
Height: 32.5 inches (47th percentile)

The doctor said her weight has really leveled off which is a good thing. He used the words "more proportional." Ha! I must say that I love our doctor and nurse where Tilly goes. They are super laid back and patient. Wonderful!

When we were parking, I saw a really good mom who made her daughter's 1 year check up only a couple of days post age 365 days. That would be ERICKA! :) So, Tilly and Bailey got to play before their shots.

Here is Tilly "pre-shot."
The after... :(

And this is literally 10 seconds post shot:
Fine and dandy!
Tilly talked to Dr. Weed quite a bit. He was pleased with her vocab. I told him to ask her what she wanted to be when she grows up. He did...she said "doctor!" (I'll have to get that on video for you!)

Here is something totally unrelated: Did anyone watch Glee last night??? Josh, Mandy and Noah came over for a little watch party. I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! The second episode didn't disappoint! Please watch it online if you've not seen it already. I promise it will be one of THE funniest things you have seen. I'm off to watch it again! :)

Bailey's Birthday Party

After a week without my computer, I'm back to blogging!

Saturday was our cousin Bailey's first birthday party. What a great one it was. Ericka is so creative. It was a great birthday party, and knowing her, she probably bought all of the presents, food and decor for $7.32 by looking for bargains!! ;)

Here are some of the pictures we took...

The birthday girl...

The WAY cute shoes Nana & Paw Paw gave Bailey...Not really sure what Bailey thinks about these!!

Isabel was there too!

And, of course, so was Tilly.

Here's a big shocker: Tilly went straight for one of Bailey's baby dolls and held it the entire party.

I don't think Tilly is ready to give Bailey car rides just yet, do you?

Great cakes!!!

Tilly and PaPaw playing--um, cooking, in Tilly's kitchen...

Bailey--thanks for a wonderful party. You were the perfect birthday girl!!

Another First--A trip to the ER

Don't worry! Everyone is okay! Tilly's night gown really got the worst of it! See???

Let's start from the beginning. Tilly likes to sit on her toy box which is really low to the ground. She was sitting on it tonight (right before bedtime, naturally) and fell backwards. She got somewhat pinned between the wall and the toy box. She let out a cry I swear we have NEVER heard before. We pretty much knew instantly that something wasn't right.
Eric picked her up, then I swooped in and got her. She would not settle down, and this is pretty unusual. I looked down and noticed that her hand looked really funny. It was turned inward and not moving. In fact, her whole left arm wasn't moving.
I had to check out her arm because it just wasn't right. She was wearing her night gown, and the only thing to do was go EMT style on it and cut that sucker off. (Sidebar: Eric went to grab the scissors for me, then I said, "well, cut it off." As usual in these situations he was white as a ghost and said "you do it." What a sissy! :)) No bones were sticking out or anything, but that arm was turned some kind of funny. Tilly was still screaming bloody murder, so I decided to do a very scientific test to assess her arm. I offered her a sucker to her left arm. When she couldn't raise her left arm to the sucker and had to reach across her body with her right arm--Time to go!!!
It's amazing how quickly we can pack up nearly our entire house (minus my purse with insurance cards...oops) and get to the hospital. I called the ER to see which doctor was working and it happened to be a doctor I worked for for about 7 years. (He is a wonderful man and doctor, and I was so super excited he was there tonight!!) I called the grandparents to inform them as well. Wouldn't you know they showed up at the hospital!
Tilly cried in the car, and she kept saying, "it hurt, it hurt" "my nolder, my nolder." (Translation: "shoulder.") When we pulled up to the hospital, Eric picked her up out of the car, and she screamed so loud! I mean LOUD! The way he picked her arm pretty much popped her arm back in to place. As we sat in the triage room, she kept getting better and better. However, the doctor still wanted to see her. He rubbed on her elbow (more screams, of course) and worked some magic to put it the rest of the way back in to place.
We came home, and Eric rocked Tilly to get her settled down after much excitement.
On a good note, there were no broken bones, no surgery, no 10 million other things that went through my head on the drive to the hospital (thank you, Lord!), and Tilly learned the words "Doctor" and "Nurse" tonight. :)
Now, Tilly is A-okay. After a bit of unplanned excitement and what I can only assume was exposure to, but not limited to H1N1, she is in her bed sleeping. Like I said, the night gown really got the worst of it.
