Another First--A trip to the ER

Don't worry! Everyone is okay! Tilly's night gown really got the worst of it! See???

Let's start from the beginning. Tilly likes to sit on her toy box which is really low to the ground. She was sitting on it tonight (right before bedtime, naturally) and fell backwards. She got somewhat pinned between the wall and the toy box. She let out a cry I swear we have NEVER heard before. We pretty much knew instantly that something wasn't right.
Eric picked her up, then I swooped in and got her. She would not settle down, and this is pretty unusual. I looked down and noticed that her hand looked really funny. It was turned inward and not moving. In fact, her whole left arm wasn't moving.
I had to check out her arm because it just wasn't right. She was wearing her night gown, and the only thing to do was go EMT style on it and cut that sucker off. (Sidebar: Eric went to grab the scissors for me, then I said, "well, cut it off." As usual in these situations he was white as a ghost and said "you do it." What a sissy! :)) No bones were sticking out or anything, but that arm was turned some kind of funny. Tilly was still screaming bloody murder, so I decided to do a very scientific test to assess her arm. I offered her a sucker to her left arm. When she couldn't raise her left arm to the sucker and had to reach across her body with her right arm--Time to go!!!
It's amazing how quickly we can pack up nearly our entire house (minus my purse with insurance cards...oops) and get to the hospital. I called the ER to see which doctor was working and it happened to be a doctor I worked for for about 7 years. (He is a wonderful man and doctor, and I was so super excited he was there tonight!!) I called the grandparents to inform them as well. Wouldn't you know they showed up at the hospital!
Tilly cried in the car, and she kept saying, "it hurt, it hurt" "my nolder, my nolder." (Translation: "shoulder.") When we pulled up to the hospital, Eric picked her up out of the car, and she screamed so loud! I mean LOUD! The way he picked her arm pretty much popped her arm back in to place. As we sat in the triage room, she kept getting better and better. However, the doctor still wanted to see her. He rubbed on her elbow (more screams, of course) and worked some magic to put it the rest of the way back in to place.
We came home, and Eric rocked Tilly to get her settled down after much excitement.
On a good note, there were no broken bones, no surgery, no 10 million other things that went through my head on the drive to the hospital (thank you, Lord!), and Tilly learned the words "Doctor" and "Nurse" tonight. :)
Now, Tilly is A-okay. After a bit of unplanned excitement and what I can only assume was exposure to, but not limited to H1N1, she is in her bed sleeping. Like I said, the night gown really got the worst of it.
