Photo Shoot

Tilly and I got up early yesterday morning for her "two year" photo shoots. Of course, she is only 22 months, but close enough. Jill Brannon took Tilly's pictures, and sent us this picture as a preview. I LOVE it!!!!My mother-in-law made this dress just for the pictures. I love it, too! It was such the perfect day for pictures too. I cannot WAIT to see the rest of the pictures!

Big Kid Halloween Party

Eric and I were invited to Sarah & Jordan's for a Halloween Party tonight. We dressed up as two characters from "Glee." (Big surprise, I'm sure!) It was a fun night and fun to see friends!

Eric is dressed as Finn who is a football player, and I dressed as Rachel who always has the "school girl" look. These characters get slurpies thrown in their face for being on the Glee club, so Eric had the great idea of getting big slurpy cups to add to our costumes.
Jessica was Miss South Carolina (and yes, we watched the You Tube video at the party!), Sarah was a character from "Mad Men," Rebecca was a character from "Anchor Man," the other Sarah (hostess) was a tv reporter who fell on live TV while stomping grapes (it made for a hilarious You Tube video!)
So, my costume consisted of the shortest skirt I have EVER worn in my life. My sister picked it up for me at WalMart yesterday, and it was quite uncomfortable, but was right for the job. The brand was Miley Cirus if that tells you anything! Yikes!! It was a very fun night though!

Busy Little Bee

Because my mom thought that I would never get around to buying Tilly a halloween costume (I would have eventually bought one..probably today, but I would have bought it nevertheless!) she bought her the cutest little bumble bee costume. Tilly knows what bees are and does her best to make the buzzing sound (even though it moreso sounds like a snake hissing) so the costume works!
My mom, sister Amanda and I went to GSFest at church tonight. It was crazy! They really went all out. Tilly was pretty much too little for rides and such, but she liked watching the bigger kids ride them and, of course, loved the petting zoo. In fact, when we were pulling out of the parking lot, she said "Bye, Duck!" :)
Anyway, here are some pictures of the cutest little bee around!

Here are the wings of her costume. I was shocked that she left those plus her antennae on all night!

Here you can somewhat see the little wand that goes with her costume. I actually ended up carrying it around most of the night. One time I was away from her (don't worry Nana, she was with my mom!) and I was still carrying the wand--felt kinda silly! Oh well!

Here is Tilly on the way to GSFest. I guess you know you've taken way too many pictures of your child when she holds up the garage door opener and says "CCCCHHHHEEEEEEEEEESSSEEE!"

Because there was about an hour's wait for corn dogs, we decided to go eat at Chick-fil-A.
So, Chick-fil-A has started putting science-ish toys in the kids meals lately. I LOVE IT! Tilly and I both had kids meals, so she got not one, but TWO graduated cylinders. As a mom, I think, "wow, she's gonna love these toys and be so smart." Then, THIS happens:
Hey, even if she's not smart, she'll be really funny!! :)
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

I've been in trouble lately by people who read by blog. Sorry it's been such a long time. We've been pretty busy lately!

On Friday afternoon (you may remember it as the first day you could see the sun in about five years...) my mom, nana and I took Tilly to a little pumpkin patch close to my mom's house. Tilly had the best time! She kept saying "Pu-kin....owange...pu-kin....owange." (Translation: Orange Pumpkin.) Please notice how her geeky mom dressed her--the very neccesary Halloween outfit!

I think the scarecrow was not her favorite part of the day!

If you look really hard in this picture, you can see the pumpkin Tilly picked out. She would try to pick up other ones but would say "OOOOh, too hebbee...too hebee" (Too heavy!)
Lately, our big task has included potty training. We have put away the diapers (except for at bedtime) and are wearing big girl undies! She's doing really well, and if she has an accident, it's only been the "number 2" giving us trouble! :( On the whole, she is doing great and gets really excited when she goes to the bathroom. She'll say "I tee-tee potty!! I flush! I eat MM!" It's been pretty fun actually.
More pictures soon!

Birthday Lunch

Tuesday is my 25th birthday, so my parents took us to lunch today. We ate at Copeland's--it was so good! I'll probably just have cereal for supper because I'm still full..but I just can't bring myself to skip a meal! :)

We were minus a sister and her new fiance (follow up pictures on the engagement soon to come...) because they have H1N1. Thanks for staying in Russellville, Amanda & Matt! We missed you but don't want that flu!!

Tilly had to make sure her baby ate, too!!

Later today, Eric cut the grass. It was getting pretty bad because of all the rain. Usually, this would not be blogworthy. HOWEVER...Eric umpired softball all day Saturday and forgot sunscreen, so he got quite red. So, when he was getting dressed today to mow, he wore long sleeves, pants, a hat with a towel around his neck and coming out of his hat. Thank the Lord he only mowed the back yard today! I mean how embarassing would that be for a bunch of people to see him??? Let's find out!

Tilly's in a Book!!!

Tilly got one of THE neatest presents while we were in Louisiana last weekend. My aunt and uncle found a book for the most perfect book for Tilly.

Check it out:
Here is the back of the book. (Probably a true statement if I do say so myself! ;))
Here's a glimpse of the inside.

Here's a close-up of "Tilly" in the book. That hair and those cheeks look pretty familiar!!!

Needless to say, I was just tickled when I saw this book! It is SO cute and Tilly (the real one) loves it!!

Catch Up Time

I think that we've been somewhat boring lately. It's kind of like we are back in the swing of things after the summer. Eric always calls it "being in a rut." He likes these ruts. But I like being busy and exciting. Not so exciting lately.

However, we did go to another family reunion last weekend in Sarepta, Louisiana. (It's the epitome of a small town!) This reunion was for my MawMaw's side of the family.
We met one of Tilly's cousins named Reeve. He is so cute! He is about a year older than Tilly.

Tilly was pretty sick the whole weekend and was NOT in the mood for pictures. However, she did learn to say "touchdown" after watching the hogs play!
Today, I got to keep our niece Micah for the first time. Tilly was pretty much thrilled to have her here. I went and picked Micah up to bring her to our house, so they both rode in the backseat. Tilly was talking to Micah and just mothering her like you wouldn't believe. She was even trying to teach her how to count. I SWEAR!! She was cracking me up. For some reason, it made me want to cry. Weird.
When I got the girls inside, Tilly darted for Micah. She said "want your paci Gicah?" Then went in to plug her up! :) Poor Micah doesn't have a chance!!!

She is definitely a deer in the headlights here!!

Both of the girl went down for a nap great! Here's Micah sacked out!

She doesn't nap as long as Tilly since she takes more naps a day. SO--we got to have some quality time together. I got to feed her baby food and give her a bath. It was so fun! It seems like FOREVER ago that Tilly was this age.
The best part of the day, you ask?? Its 7 pm and I'm still in what I slept in. No need to change clothes now!! :)
