Why Eric Isn't A Doctor...And A Little Tilly Update

Well, if you have read my blog before, you probably already know why Eric isn't a doctor. I am referring, of course, to the "candy in the belly button" incident. However, I feel it necessary to give another example as to why I was the one of us who ventured into healthcare.

(You should know that Tilly got tubes in her ears three weeks ago.) So, last week, we took Tilly to the doctor because she had been coughing for over a month. Diagnosis: Sinus Infection. Treatment: Antibiotics for Five Days (Wednesday-Sunday.) On Monday morning, I was taking a shower. (You should also know that I prefer to take morning showers with minimal lighting because I'm not so much the morning person--especially on Monday mornings!) Mid-shower, Eric comes sailing in through the bathroom door, turns on ALL the lights in our bathroom and says "Leslie, you've gotta see this--something's really not right." (Sounds familiar, huh?) He shows me Tilly's ear. It happened to be full of blood--bright red blood. I calmly tell him that if he'd give me time to get out of the shower, I would call the medical exchange and see what we needed to do. I asked him just to clean out Tilly's ear--"It's gonna be okay, Eric. Just calm down...and turn those lights back out for the the love of Monday morning!!!"

Well, no sooner than I turn off the shower, I hear a knock at the bathroom door. "Leslie, I'm sick. I can't do this." Eric is holding Tilly and is WHITE AS A GHOST!! "Leslie, I can't deal with the blood. You're gonna have to do it." At this point, I'm a little tired of the sissy panicking. I proceed to clean Tilly's ear. (Tilly, by the way, is again in no apparent pain.) Eric constantly gets whiter and basically gags through the whole thing. Oh my! Get it together Warford!!!!! Go ahead and keep on doing that exciting engineering.

For those of you who are wondering...the blood is a result of the sinus infection. Not necessarily normal, but no big deal. Dr. called in drops, and Tilly seems to be doing better now.

Tilly still hasn't gotten over the sinus infection. So, Emmi (that's what Tilly will call Eric's mom, Emily) and I took her back to the pediatrician. After a few tests which obviously annoyed Tilly, she was diagnosed with RSV and secondary pneumonia. She had a treatment at the clinic and we've been sent home with an inhaler. (Poor baby!) She's already doing better!!! Thank the Lord!
Earlier in the day, I was feeling pretty bad for Tilly and because I had to go back to work while she was so pitiful. My sister Ashley sent me a text that said, "Poor Tilly. Not only will she have curly, frizzy red hair and probably have to wear glasses, but now she'll have to carry around in inhaler too!" Of course, she was making a joke, and it completely lifted my spirits!

Because I really don't like to post without pictures, here are a few:

Tilly is such a daddy's girl, so I've been letting her play with some of my jewelry... a cheap attempt to kinda balance out some of that male influence if at all possible.

My little book worm...

Don't ask me why, but I love this picture. I really wish I had her whole face...but I just love it anyway!
She even poses in her sleep.

(By the way, the pacifier is just for sleeping these days...sorry Nana!)

Just pack her bags and send her to me! She really needs her Aunt Candy. Kohen needs to run his hands through that curly, red hair! I'm calling tonight.
